Virgin Voyage Difference
So I did it ya’ll!!! I got to experience my first Virgin Voyage. I’m not a Virgin Voyage virgin anymore. So I’m going to share with you some key differences I noticed between Virgin Voyages and other cruise lines I’ve been on.
Adults Only
Virgin Voyages only offers adults only cruises. Everyone on board was 18 years of age or older. So, if your looking for a vacation away from the little ones this is the way to go.
Unlimited Drink Package
Unlike other cruise lines Virgin doesn’t offer a drink package. As part of your cruise cost you are provided with all essential beverages which they classify as sodas, juices, water, coffee and tea (not included fresh pressed juices and coffee and tea from Grounds coffee bar). Bring your water bottle as Virgin Voyages doesn’t utilize bottled water but instead has water bottle filling stations and carafes of water in your cabin that are refilled each day. What about alcoholic beverages you may wonder? Virgin Voyages allows you prepay for what you think you’ll spend at the bar with their bar tab option or have each alcoholic drink charged to your account. (More on this in a later blog)
Buffet Dining a thing of the past
Virgin voyages does not offer buffet or formal dining options like other cruise lines. On a Virgin Voyage there are more than 20+ eateries that you can choose to dine in on the daily basis. They also offer speciality resturants that are included in the cost of your voyage. However, with these places you need to make reservations in advance, Virgin offers you the ability to make these reservations via their app starting 45 days prior to sailing in you are in a regular cabin, Those in suites are given this option earlier.
Photographs?
When traveling with other cruise lines I experienced a photographer being set up on embarkation day as well as for other events and when you land in ports to take pictures of you, all of which you can buy later in the Photo Shop on board. However, Virgin Voyages did not offer this there were no photographers set up to take your picture at various points throughout the cruise.
